Providing education space from K4 t to grade 12, the Stein Valley Nlaka’pamux School was designed to a brief which required a cost effective, easy to maintain school facility that would also be cost effective to operate.
An integrated design workshop was held at the onset of the project, to determine effective strategies to achieve the project goals. The workshop involved the principal, staff and members of the School Board as well as the entire team of consultants in the design process. The IDP workshops developed a school design that met all defined objectives and at the same time created a facility which provides the community with a design which refelcts the contempory traditions of the community while incorporating materials and design elements important to historical traditions.
