Ty-Histanis is a new sustainable community development by Tla-o-qui-aht First Nations.  The emerging identity of Ty-Histanis is born from two infrastructural structures which provide an organizational backbone to the development and form the first influences on a concentrated community core.

The Postal Kiosk/Bus Stop Shelter and Pump House/District Energy Plant both take their form beyond function to reminisce on Nuu Chal Nuth Plank House typologies with their simple shed roofs and expressive timber roof structures.

The Postal Kiosk /Bus Stp Shelter and Pump House / District Energy Plan won a 2011 AIBC Special Jury Award for Design Excellence.
