Whitehorse STP

Our Civil Engineering professionals worked closely with the City of Whitehorse, their Council, regulatory agencies and a variety of stakeholder groups and public on this multi-year project involving the design and construction of required upgrades of existing sewage collection and treatment facilities. The facilities DNA designed include a series of sewage lagoons, with a construction value of over $10 M (two primary anaerobic cells followed by four large facultative cells with future aeration). Lagoon effluent flows to a storage impoundment that provides storage and ammonia removal by volatilization with an annual discharge over a 60-day period into the Yukon River.
