Pinaymootang Housing Inventory Condition Assessments

In 2016, DNA carried out condition assessments on 140 houses, many that had been affected by severe flooding in 2011, to determine the salvageability of each home. We carried out visual inspections of each home, observing structural integrity, health and safety concerns, and any other associated damages.

Upon completion of the assessments, individual house reports, including photographs and cost of repair were assembled. From DNA’s report and findings, each house was prioritized based on the relative safety and health concerns in each home, and remediation options proposed. Since the completion of initial assessments, over 40 homes have been repaired, and an additional 44 new homes provided to the community, improving the quality and longevity of the communities housing supply.
