Gitwangak Health and Community Centre
The Gitwangak Health and Community Building is located in the Gitxsan territory along the banks of the Skeena River about 96km northeast of Terrace along Highway 16.
The health centre contains offices for CHR, head nurse, visiting professional, mental health, NNADP, examination and treatment rooms, dental, and traditional healing. Additional public amenities include large community health room, waiting area, kitchen, washrooms as well as band administration offices and council chamber.
The design focuses on use of durable, low maintenance materials with use of wood accents to the interior and exterior a warm counterpoint to metal and cement products.
