Water + Wastewater
Water + Wastewater
The DNA Civil Team has been working with Indigenous Clients to upgrade community water and wastewater systems for over 30 years. Our team is well informed and fully engaged in the process of supporting our clients to identify requirements, secure funding, and complete the design and construction of these essential infrastructure projects.
The DNA Civil Team is proud of the work that we have done with Indigenous communities to upgrade ageing water systems and eliminate long-standing boil water advisories throughout BC. Our success on these projects is due to our ability to apply creative thinking and develop customized approaches for our clients to suit their individual needs. We pride ourselves on working with our clients to improve water systems to provide safe and reliable drinking water to their communities for many years to come.
The DNA Civil Team also has a proven track record of improving wastewater (sewer) systems for indigenous clients throughout British Columbia, including connecting small communities to neighbouring municipal wastewater systems and replacing failing septic fields with community wastewater systems.

Roads, Drainage + Subdivisions
Roads, Drainage + Subdivisions
The DNA Civil Team specializes in the design and construction of roads, drainage and subdivision projects. We work with communities to remedy existing roads and drainage concerns and to design and construct new subdivisions and roads, including site servicing and drainage.
The DNA Civil Team works with Indigenous communities to assess their needs for new serviced lots, whether it be due to overcrowding, growing populations, or an increase in community members who would like to return to the community to reside. With this justification in hand, DNA can assist clients in applying for funding to expand their serviced lots, infill projects, or subdivisions.
For communities with excessively dusty roadways, roads with poor foundations that are constantly rutting or potholed, or roads with poor alignment or grading, DNA offers services in roads and drainage improvements. DNA roads and drainage improvements projects can include paving, construction of sidewalks, improved street lighting and signage.

Outdoor Recreation
Outdoor Recreation
The DNA Civil Team has worked with several clients to design and build outdoor recreation facilities including baseball diamonds, soccer fields, skating rinks, and skateboard parks.
For many of our clients, particularly those living in rural and remote areas, the construction of recreational facilities impacts their community in a number of beneficial ways including improving physical, social, and spiritual wellbeing. The construction of these facilities provides a venue for community members to stay fit and reduce stress, and also provides a place for families and communities to come together, connect, and support each other.

The DNA Civil Team is aware that many projects are unique, and they do not always fit within a specific category or mold. Our team of skilled and qualified engineers are open to discussing your unique needs and requirements, to see if there is an opportunity for us to support you in the successful delivery of your project.
The DNA Civil Team has a wide range of experience delivering unique civil engineering projects. To name a few, we have successfully built a cruise ship terminal, designed hatcheries and spawning bed improvements for the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, prepared site servicing and grading plans for biomass facilities, developed cost estimates for site works associated with developing economic initiatives (e.g. campgrounds, green houses, resorts, etc.), designed and constructed coastal erosion protection works, completed aerial drone surveys, and developed asset management plans for communities to proactively operate and maintain their infrastructure and buildings.
Do you have a project that doesn’t fit in a typical box? If so, DNA’s Civil team would be pleased to meet with you to review your proposed project and determine if we can provide the services required. If a project is outside of our skillset, we are happy to refer you to other consultants who can meet your needs.
