?Esdilagh Outdoor Recreation Facilities - Ice Rink

The project’s purpose was to provide recreational facilities to the ?Esdilagh (Alexandria) First Nation community to encourage members to get outside and be active, rebuilding a positive, supportive, and healthy community.

DNA provided support to the ?Esdilagh First Nation in applying for funding through the Building Canada Fund administered by Indigenous Services Canada.  ?Esdilagh First Nation then retained DNA to provide design and construction engineering services of a permanent outdoor Ice Rink.  A baseball field was also designed and constructed as part of this recreational facilities project.

Construction works included the following:

  • preparing the site for the construction of the ice rink foundation,
  • establishing drainage infrastructure to protect the ice rink,
  • constructing a 165ft x 75ft concrete playing surface complete with aluminum and pvc board system, and
  • installing a lighting system so that community members could use the facilities in the evenings.

It’s in our DNA… Engagement. Respect. Expertise.
