?Esdilagh Outdoor Recreation Facilities – Baseball Field

The project’s purpose was to provide recreational facilities to the ?Esdilagh (Alexandria) First Nation community to encourage members to get outside and be active, rebuilding a positive, supportive, and healthy community.

DNA provided support to the ?Esdilagh First Nation in applying for funding through the Building Canada Fund administered by Indigenous Services Canada.  ?Esdilagh First Nation then retained DNA to provide design and construction engineering services of the Baseball Field.  An ice rink was also designed and constructed as part of this recreational facilities project.

Construction works included:

  • preparing the site to build a 280ft baseball diamond,
  • establishing drainage infrastructure to achieve positive field drainage (to prevent standing water on the field after rains),
  • constructing a backstop and perimeter fencing to delineate the baseball field and provide protection,
  • establishing irrigation infrastructure to maintain the grass during the summer months, and
  • seeding the field with a sports field seed mix.

It’s in our DNA… Engagement. Respect. Expertise.
