?Esdilagh Health Clinic

The ?Esdilagh Health Centre is located in the traditional territory of the ?Esdilagh First Nation. ?Esdilagh means ‘where the land meets the water’, the community is located approximately 64km north of Williams Lake and 52km south of Quesnel along the Fraser River.

The centre houses health and administration offices, a meeting room, exam and treatment room, small community kitchen and multipurpose community health room.

The building is orientated towards the Fraser River. Local Douglas Fir columns at varied angles inject movement into the building façade and create a gathering space and sheltered transition from the often-harsh winter elements to the building interior. The design focused on creating a secure, welcoming environment with emphasis on low maintenance durable materials, energy efficient heating and ventilating systems.
