Nak'azdli IR1 Community Paving

The community of Nak’azdli Whut’en (IR1) is adjacent to Fort St. James, approximately 160 km northeast of Prince George.

When DNA started working with Nak’azdli Whut’en, most roads in this community were gravel roads.  The community was frustrated with the ongoing maintenance they had to do to maintain these roads (repair wash-boarding and potholes) and were frustrated with the amount of dust that these gravel roads generated.   The community also wanted to have a similar service standard to the paved streets in the neighbouring community of Fort St. James.  Therefore, Nak’azdli Whut’en initiated a paving project to improve the level of service in their community.

Nak’azdli Whut’en retained DNA to provide design and construction engineering services for the project. The scope of work for the Nak’azdli Whut’en (IR1) Community Paving included clearing vegetation, grading the road, asphalt placement, ditching, culvert replacement, sign installation, and line painting.

It’s in our DNA… Engagement. Respect. Expertise.
