Moricetown Health Centre

Moricetown Health Centre is located 30km west of Smithers, BC. The building has strong community presence and creates a sense of public space relative to the nearby Band multi-purpose cultural building.

The project is comprised of a community health and public gathering space located adjacent to the main entry connecting the health and administration offices, and treatment rooms. The building’s orientation and curtain wall glazing take advantage of existing topography maximizing strong visual connectivity with its surroundings.

Building materials are both durable and warm with metal cladding counterpointed by natural wood in the soffit and entry areas. The health centre has been constructed in accordance with the National Energy Code and utilises energy efficient lighting, controls and HVAC systems.
