Pacheedaht Health Centre

The Pacheedaht First Nation is located just north of Port Renfrew, on Vancouver Island. The community is located at the junction of the Gordon and San Juan Rivers just before entering San Juan Bay.

The Health Centre was designed to present a contemporary expression of the plank house typology. The building has been planned to separate public and private program aspects with the main community room reinforcing traditions of community gathering and dining. The building form works with the existing multi-purpose building to frame a new community outdoor space and public entry.
