Valemount Cares Society Seniors Housing

DNA is providing Development Consulting as well as Design services (architectural, structural, and civil) to the Valemount Cares Society.  The project is funded by BC Housing’s Community Housing Fund. DNA has guided the Society through the Development Consulting process and has provided ongoing support.

The project includes a one-storey, wood-framed building and will offer 14 one-bedroom and 2 two-bedroom units geared towards senior independent living as well as common areas to support flexible home care services. The project is targeting a high level of sustainability, with passive house design.

The vision for this project is to provide safe, appropriate, affordable seniors housing in Valemount. This will ensure there are opportunities for people to remain within their community, surrounded by their friends, family, and support system as they grow older. To support tenants, the Society’s objective is to make available flexible home care services within the new building through supports such as community health workers, subsidized meal provision, transportation to appointments, housekeeping and laundry services.
