West Vancouver Youth Visioning

The District of West Vancouver’s Youth Services Review considers the future of Ambleside Youth Centre; one of the oldest buildings in the District. The youth visioning project was the final deliverable from the Youth Services Review and focused on youth and stakeholder consultation to identify the space and resource needs of youth in the District.

Youth and stakeholder engagement took place between November 2015 to February 2016 and included youth, parents/guardians and caregivers, community service providers and the District of West Vancouver front line staff and executive.  The engagement process included workshops and a survey. The process was guided by the Youth Steering Committee, who met five times over the period of the project.  Key findings in the project were that transportation and cost were limiting factors in youth participation in District services and activities.
