Prophet River Multiplex

The Prophet River Multiplex is located 90km south of Fort Nelson in the First Nation Reserve of Prophet River. The multiplex houses three distinct wings: a health centre, administrative offices including a council chamber, and a small gymnasium with a weight room. The three wings are joined at the center by a unique vaulted atrium space.

The multiplex is a split-level conventional wood frame structure consisting of a concrete slab on grade and a mezzanine wood platform for the weight room.  The primary feature of the building is the butterfly shaped roof formed by alternating cranked glulam beams supported by vertical glulam columns and discrete circular steel posts. Other features include the glulam ribbed exterior canopies with raked-back posts to limit exposure at the base.
