Heiltsuk Tribal Council Indigenous Housing
Heiltsuk Tribal Council has successfully leveraged 6 units through Budget 2018 to partner with BC Housing in developing a 12-unit project. With funding from the Indigenous Housing Fund, this project meets a portion of Heiltsuk’s housing needs by including six-plexes with two- and three- bedroom units. The units are designed for couples and families and are being constructed in lots situated above the community, overlooking the ocean.
Another recent partnership between Heiltsuk and BC Housing looks to explore supportive housing projects for youth, Elders and women leaving violent situations.
