Huu-ay-aht Multi-Purpose Building

The Huu-ay-aht Multi-Purpose Building is located in Pachena Bay near Bamfield, BC. The facility houses all the administrative programs for the Huu-ay-aht First Nation including Health, Social Services, Education, Economic Development, Fisheries, Forestry and Governance.

The design of the building response to contextual consideration of site, cultural traditions, regional resources, programmatic requirements and budgeting parameters. Natural light, local and durable materials, water efficiency, natural ventilation, a hybrid geothermal heating and cooling system, low VOC paints, reflective roof, environmental friendly septic field and high efficiency lighting are part of a sustainable agenda that distinguishes this project.
