Xwísten Experiences, Visitor Facilities

DNA worked with the Xwísten First Nation to develop culturally appropriate facilities to accommodate tourists looking for a cultural interpretive experience in the region. Located at the confluence of the Fraser River and the Bridge River, there are three key areas that Xwísten wanted to profile: their fishing rocks, their ancient village site (with more than 80 identified pit house depressions) and their winter village.

The project included the following:

  • Winter Village - interpretive signage
  • Ancient Village - interpretive signage
  • Fishing Rocks - interpretive signage, viewing platforms, covered seating, washroom facilities, parking and a covered eating area were developed at the fishing rocks.

This project supported Xwísten to maintain and expand their offerings to tourists in the region.

It’s in our DNA… Engagement. Respect. Expertise.
